Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow position at the MRC Prion Unit, School of Life & Medical Sciences, University College London.
This is a 9 month fixed term contract position at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London
The MRC Prion Unit is one of the world’s leading research centres for the study of prions and their wider relevance to neurodegenerative disease with a growing research activity in Alzheimer’s disease (www.prion.ucl.ac.uk). The Institute is highly multidisciplinary with close integration of structural and molecular biology, genetics, cellular and animal models, small molecule and immuno-therapeutics and clinical research. MRC and UCL have jointly invested £30 million in provision of a dedicated new building in central London for the Institute supporting the vision to expand research in protein misfolding and aggregation in neurodegenerative disease.
The Clinic is a tertiary referral centre providing a multidisciplinary approach to the clinical and research challenges presented by human prion disease. Consultant staff includes Professor John Collinge, Professor Simon Mead, and Dr Tze How Mok. The appointee would work as part of the National Prion Clinic team with particular responsibility for the clinical assessment and management of patients referred with a possible diagnosis of prion disease throughout the UK
