Registrar’s Prize in Clinical Neuroscience Meeting 2025 Report
The IICN’s Registrar’s Prize in Clinical Neuroscience, under the direction of Prof. Simon Cronin, took place on 14th November, at the Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan Road, Dublin. The Meeting is an established highlight of the autumn neuroscience meeting calendar and was attended by consultants and registrars from neuroscience centres across Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The judges of both categories at the meeting were unanimous in their view that the standard of presentation was exceptionally high. There was much debate and consideration of each of the studies at the meeting.
Interesting Case Reports category

Prof. Simon Cronin and Dr. Aine Redmond The award for best Interesting Case Report was made to Dr. Aine Redmond for her presentation, “Successful Management of Clinically Complex Lymphomatic Pan-Infundibulohypophysitis.”
Dr. To Tse and Prof. Simon Cronin Prof. Simon Cronin and Rian McDermott Joint second place was awarded to Dr. To Tse for her presentation, “Late-Onset Ataxia Episodic Ataxia with response to Fampridine: a Case of Genetically Confirmed GAA-FGF14 Ataxia (SCA27B)” and to Dr. Rian McDermott for his presentation, “Cerebral Foreign Body Reaction; A Rare Complication of Endovascular Intervention.”
Original Research Category

Prof. Cronin and Dr. Clodagh McDermott The prize for Original Research Category was awarded to Dr. Clodagh McDermott for her presentation, “Machine Learning-Based Clinical Prediction Tools for Pre-Hospital Differentiation of Ischaemic and Haemorrhagic Stroke.”
