Neurology Update Meeting, Friday 25th September 2026

The 25th Annual Neurology Update Meeting, under the directorship of Dr. Tudor Munteanu, will take place on Friday 25th September 2026 in City North Hotel, Gormanstown, Co. Meath.

This is a neurology education day which will be of interest to neurologists, general physicians and general practitioners. The meeting will be highly relevant for specialists and generalists who manage neurological illness, presenting the latest developments in diagnosis and treatment in a practical “What you need to know” format with short talks with clinical insights for management of neurological patients.

Dr Tudor Munteanu is a Consultant Neurologist at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. His spacialist areas of interest are epilepsy and movement disorders.
The Guest speaker at the meeting will be Dr. Lina Nashef, King’s College Hospital, London Her lecture is titled, “What’s in a name? Are ILAE criteria for diagnosing Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome easily applicable in adult patients in this era of novel but restricted treatments?“

Guest Speaker

Dr. Lina Nashef is a Consultant Neurologist and Reader with an interest in epilepsy at King’s College Hospital. She qualified from the University of Bristol in 1980 and trained in Bristol hospitals, Charing Cross Hospital, the National Hospital and King’s College Hospital. Her research field and publications included mortality and sudden death in epilepsy, the subject of her MD thesis. She has an interest in the assessment and treatment of patients with complex epilepsy, including adults with intellectual disabilities. Her publications include co-authoring the Oxford Specialist Handbook on epilepsy (2009) and co-editing a textbook on Neurology and Pregnancy (2012) with a new edition due in 2026. She is a trustee and previously the chair of a British-based charity supporting medical education for Palestinian medical students and doctors. She previously served as a member of the Secretary of State for Transport’s Honorary Medical Advisory Panel on driving and disorders of the nervous system, the ABN services subcommittee, the education subcommittee and served as an ABN council member until 2021.

From Dublin Airport, travel North on the M1, turning left at junction 7 (signposted for Julianstown, Drogheda South and Laytown).
