Updated Stroke Action Plan is published in the European Stroke Journal – Jan 2026.

The updated Stroke Action Plan for Europe (SAP-E), a joint initiative by the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) and the Stroke Alliance for Europe (SAFE), is now available in the European Stroke Journal

This updated Plan:

• Highlights both the progress made and the critical gaps that persist in stroke prevention, emergency care, rehabilitation and life after stroke across countries in Europe.
• Shows data gathered from European countries through the Stroke Service Tracker.
• Presents a clear roadmap, with actionable targets and measurable benchmarks, to reduce the burden of stroke by 2030.
