Post CSCST Fellowship in Neuropathology - Molecular Pathology

The Faculty of Pathology are now seeking applications from suitable candidates for the following Post CSCST Fellowship in Neuropathology - Molecular Pathology

  • Post: Beaumont Hospital
  • Duration: 1 year
  • Commencing: July 2020
  • Eligibility: Available as either a post-CSCST fellowship or as a specialty module for current trainees either in Histopathology or Clinical Neurosciences.

Fellowship Details

Molecular pathology can be used to diagnose disease and/or to guide the treatment of disease. This Clinical Fellowship will give the opportunity to undertake advanced clinical training as a sub specialist in Molecular Neuropathology.

Core objectives

  • To perform an intra-operative diagnosis using smear and/or frozen section techniques
  • To diagnose and advise on masses/ lesions of the neurological system
  • To integrate molecular oncology findings into the surgical pathology report
  • To present these cases at MDT meetings.
  • To present at local and international meeting
  • To accurately diagnose and report pathological neurological disorders and know the importance of NGS in neurological disorders
